ULTCW To Be Honored At Annual Unity Awards

The West Angeles Community Development Corporation will honor SEIU-ULTCW as its “Community Unity Award” recipient at its 2009 Unity Awards Benefit held at the West Angeles Church of God in Christ in Los Angeles on Feb. 5, 2009. 

The purpose of the award is to recognize the tremendous difference SEIU-ULTCW makes in the city of Los Angeles – making life better for everyone. 

In previous years, the CDC has presented Outstanding Corporate Citizens Awards to Washington Mutual, Sony Corporation, Southern California Edison, Union Bank of California, Bank of America, AT&T and many others.  This is the first year they will present the “Community Unity Award”, so SEIU-ULTCW is the first recipient!  The annual award is accompanied by a special presentation to major corporations who have demonstrated concern and made significant contributions to revitalizing the South Los Angeles Community.

The Unity Awards banquet is the only major fundraising effort for the West Angeles Community Development Corporation whose mission is to increase social and economic justice, demonstrate compassion, and alleviate poverty as tangible expressions of the Kingdom of God through the vehicle of community development.
